Our Privacy Commitments
We never sell your personal data or birth records to third parties. We do not use third-party advertising tracking networks. All chart calculations are computed on secure servers, and you maintain complete control to delete your account or revoke shared links at any time.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information strictly necessary to provide and refine our astrological services: (a) Account Identifiers: Name, email address, password hash, and language preference; (b) Birth & Astronomical Inputs: Birth date, exact birth time or approximate time mode, birth place coordinates (city, state, country, latitude, and longitude), and selected areas of life interest; (c) Platform Activity: Queries submitted to 'Ask Ekastro', daily focus selections in 'My Day', saved astrological insights, and history; (d) Technical Logs: IP address (anonymized for rate-limiting), browser type, device information, and diagnostic telemetry stripped of personal identifiers.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your data is used solely to: (a) Compute your exact Vedic birth chart, divisional charts (D9 Navamsha), Vimshottari dasha cycles, and planetary transits via our deterministic ephemeris engine; (b) Generate contextual, natural-language interpretations tailored to your chart; (c) Authenticate and secure your account session; (d) Maintain your saved questions, reading history, and personal preferences; (e) Diagnose technical issues and protect against malicious activity or service abuse.
3. Data Sharing & Third-Party Processors
We DO NOT sell, rent, trade, or monetize your personal data. We disclose minimal necessary information only to trusted service infrastructure providers bound by strict confidentiality and data protection agreements: (a) Cloud Infrastructure & Database Hosting (secure server infrastructure); (b) AI Language Model Providers (processed strictly via zero-data-retention enterprise APIs that do not use your personal queries or birth data to train foundation models); (c) Legal Compliance: only when compelled by lawful governmental subpoenas or court orders.
4. Public Sharing & Privacy by Design
When you choose to generate a public share link for a specific chart or answer, Ekastro creates a minimal, sanitized view. It never reveals your email, password, full chat history, or other personal account details. All shared pages include 'noindex' robot tags to prevent search engine indexing. You can revoke any shared link at any time from your dashboard.
5. Data Security & Storage Standards
We implement industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards. All data transmission is encrypted using TLS 1.3, and sensitive records in our database are encrypted at rest with AES-256. Access to production systems is restricted by multi-factor authentication and role-based access control.
6. Data Retention & Account Deletion
We retain your birth data and conversation history as long as your account remains active. You can delete individual saved readings or permanently close your account at any time via your Profile Settings. Closing your account triggers immediate soft-deletion and unlinks all public URLs, followed by complete purging from our active databases.
7. Cookies & Session Storage
Ekastro uses first-party session cookies and secure local storage exclusively for essential features: user authentication, session security, and language selection. We do NOT use third-party behavioral advertising cookies or cross-site tracking scripts.
8. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR / CCPA / DPDP)
Regardless of your jurisdiction, we uphold universal privacy rights: (a) Right to Access: View all birth data and readings associated with your profile; (b) Right to Rectification: Correct inaccurate birth times, locations, or account details; (c) Right to Erasure: Request permanent deletion of your account and associated records; (d) Right to Data Portability: Export your astrological chart data.
9. Children's Privacy
Ekastro is not intended for or directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately so we can remove it.
